Beaverdam Vineyard Inc. and future Winery was formed in 2010. The owners have been involved in vineyard management establishing American, French, and German hybrids varietals on 5 acres. We are working to create that suite of varietals and begin production and marketing. The vineyard is located in the newly federally designated Upper Hiwassee Highlands American Viticultural Area (AVA).
The Winery is expected to be a boutique winery located on the farm in Murphy, Cherokee County, North Carolina. Our annual goal is to produce quality grapes, market and sell wines of distinctive local quality directly from the winery’s tasting room to progressive wine consumers, and through selected local restaurants.
The 38 acre family farm employs integrated pest management, has a sustainable Forest Stewardship Plan, initiated shiitake mushroom production and installed a commercial 10 kW PV solar energy array as part of the TVA Green Power Providers program.
