In 1975, two architecture students met in a design studio at Virginia Tech.  Years later, they reunited to work together as

architects in Winston-Salem.  In 2006, Michael West and Tom Hughes, along with their wives Patricia and Julia, purchased 77 acres

in East Bend in the Yadkin Valley Appellation, where they planted vineyards.

In the spring of 2009, a tasting room opened, nestled

among five acres of vineyards and twenty acres of pastures for llama and miniature horses.  Varietals planted on the property

include Chardonel, Traminette, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
