Raffaldini Vineyards was established in 2002 and is nestled in the hills near the Yadkin River and the Blue Ridge Mountains at an elevation of about 1200 feet. Raffaldini is the first winery in NC to work exclusively with Italian grape varietals and produces Italian style wines rich with tradition. They were also the lead petitioner in the formation of the Swan Creek AVA.

RagApple Lassie Vineyards, located in the heart of the new Yadkin Valley, is the namesake of third generation farmer, Frank Hobson's Championship 4-H Show calf. RagApple Lassie was named a Finalist for Best New Winery, won the 2004 Best of Show at the NC State Fair, and First Place in the Pacific Rim International for its label series.
