Brayford VineyardsFour miles southeast of Surry Community College in the Copeland Community is one of the first vineyards in the area to incorporate the open lyre trellis system.   Two white varieties are grown in the three acre vineyard established in 2005.  Fruit from the Viognier vines have produced wines at Daveste Winery in 2008-2009;  at Stony Knoll Winery in 2008 and Rag Apple Lassie in 2009.  The Petit Manseng produced an excellent varietal at Surry Cellars in 2008; a late harvest desert wine at Stony Knoll Winery in 2008 and the 2009 crop is a blend component at Raffaldini Winery.
