The Crater farms were farmed by five generations with the primary crops being tobacco, corn, grain, cattle and chickens. The current vineyard site sits at an elevation of approximately 1150 feet and has both east and west facing slopes. Springs from the property feed ponds which later drain into Buck Shoals Creek. The winery construction was completed in August 2004 and commenced crushing and winemaking for the 2004 harvest. Great large covered back deck and front porch for customers pleasure. Gift shop and tasting room.
