Dr. Sara Spayd received our Member of Distinction 2016 award for her leadership and dedication to NC grape growing and wine industry at our January Conference and annual meeting held at the Marriott Hotel, Winston Salem.
Wine Grower of Excellence Award
At our annual meeting last month we awarded Jolo Vineyards the Wine Grower of Excellence Award, 2016, in recognition of their leadership and dedication to the production of quality NC Wine grapes.
2015 Member of Distinction Award

UNCG - Bryan School of Business, Dr. Joy Bhadury, Dr. Erick T. Byrd, and Mr. Sam Troy.
In recognition of their leadership and dedication to North Carolina's grape growing and wine industry.
ASWA Tray Award
The Atlantic Seaboard WIne Association's Board of Directors has presented the Perpetual Silver Wine Grape Productivity Tray to the NC Winegrower's Association at this years conference in January. The ASWA wished to recognize the NC Winegorwer's Association for its contributions to the growing success of the NC wine industry.
Fletcher Henderson, ASWA Vice President wanted to particularly thank the president and members of the NC Winegrower's Association for the opportunity to hear and learn more of the spectacular growth of North Carolina's wine industry from its historic roots of early Muscadine winemaking to today's production of quality Vitis Vinifera grape wines. "Your wine and grape industry, I am told is currently contributing some 1.71 billion to the state's economy, infused by some half-million tourists annually and the commercial activities of the state's reported 160 wineries".
2015 NCWA Awards
The NCWA is pleased to announce that Sanctuary Vineyards, Jarvisburg, NC has been awarded the 2015 Wine Grower of Excellence Award in recognition of their leadership and dedication to the productions of quality NC wine grapes.
For seven generations the Wright Family have called coastal Currituck County home. Sanctuary Vineyards is located on a quaint seaside farm with 10 acres of grapes nestled amoung hundreds of acres of farmland and wildlife impoundments that they like to call "The Sanctuary".
Varieties include: Syrah, Tempranillo, Viognier, Nortan and the classic Muscadine.
