Silk Hope is Chatham County's first winery. Owner, Wally Butler planted his first vines in the yard of his Silk Hope home in 1985. A hands-on, handcrafted operation, current plantings include Seyval and Vidal Blanc, Villard, and Chambourcin varieties.
